Research Abstract |
The following experimental methods for students were developed by using Sea squirts from a view point of locally characteristic teaching materials. 1. Experiments and observations of the heart beat in Ciona intestinalis; the equipment to record the heart beat and the apparatus of drug treatment to a pace-maker by using removed heart were deviced to facilitate for doing these experiments. 2. Experiments and observations for phototaxis of tadpole larva and adhesive behavior of metamorphosis larva; a simple method for these experiments and observations was developed respectively by using improved equipments. 3. Observation methods for fertilization and development of eggs in Ciona savignyi were presented with these serial photomicrographs. 4. VTR was also presented as teaching materials,whose contents are mainly consisted of development of eggs and metamorphosis in Sea squirt, Halocynthia roretzi, and its farming bed.
