Research Abstract |
This project was planned to promote the rapid progress on the researches of dgital signal proceesing by clarifying the relationship between various techniques and methods relating digital signal processing and by organizing them systematically through the cooperative work of researchers and engineers in the broad field of digital signal processing. The main results obtained are as follows. 1. Technical Committee meetings on digital signal processing were held to discuss the future reseearch work on digital signal processing and to make plans for performing this project. 2. Technical meetings on digital signal processing were held to promote the systematic organization of the various fields of digital signal processing by making discussions and talks among researchers and engineers in these fields. 3. A workshop was held on digital signal processing to know the present situation of the researches on digital signal processing and to discuss how to perform the future works. A report was a

lso made as shown at the back column [BOOK]. 4. Symposiums on digital signal processing were held in 1986 and in 1987 in order to afford researchers chances to report the works on digital signal processing. Technical reports on the symposiums were also published as shown at the back column [BOOK]. These symposiums were valuable opportunities for researchers and engineers to discuss and talk about digital signal processing. 5. The above meetings of 1 to 5 were sponsored by the Technical Committee on Digitral Signal Procesing which was established as a temporal committee of the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers of Japan. Since the above results were fully appreciated, the Technical Committee was decided to re-start as a permanent committee from this April. 6.In order to afford a good environment for the researches on digital signal processing, a common data-base was constructed by summarizing the academic data on the research organizations and individuals, their achievements, and their major current research projects. 7. Materials were published concerning 2 to 4 shown above and distributed to related organizations and researchers. As shown above, the initial goal of this project was fully accomplished. Less
