Research Abstract |
(1)Gathering and Classifying Pata:We confirmed the geographical positions of temples,by dividing the data of chang-an into the left section,the right section,on the imperial palace,the outside of the city, unidentified wards,Hui-chang anti-Buddhist movement and soon.And then,we traced the foundation move,chage of name,removal,reconstruction of each tenple.thus,new data concerning about 160 temples ware gathered from adifferent viewpount,including not only the data on related matters such as high priests and influential men but also the data on garlands,nuns,nunneries and the people.Some 120reterence sources are geographical discriptions,biographies of Buddhist priests,Buddhist encyclopedias,inscription on stone monuments,history books,essoys,travel diaries and so on. (2)Index:The contents are classified into temples'names and peoples names,the first character of which can be looked up either by how many strokes it has or by Si-hua Hao-ma.
