Research Abstract |
Stndy on the deformation of two kinds of two phase materials, spheroidal graphite cast iron and Al-Al Ni Entectics. Obtained results are as follow. (1) Intergranular fracture at 673K is suppressed by making graphite volume fraction large and is not influenced by graphite nodule diameter. (2) This embrittlement is suppressed by refining ferrite grain size. (3) Relaxation rate of spheroidal graphite cast iron is much smaller than that of flaky graphite cast iron. (4) Residual stress in the Al-Al_3 Ni entectic composites is affected by inter-fiber spacing. Deformation stress of the composites contains residual stresses which are influenced by the inter-fiber spacing. (5) The numerical simulation which was carried ont to explain these behaviors was successful. (6) Ductility of Al-Al_3 Ni base alloy produced by squeeze casting is improved by speroidizing annealing. (7) In both castings and sintered materials, ductility is improved by making the axis ratio of equivalent ellipse of Al_3 Ni phase close to 1.
