Research Abstract |
THE PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT IS TO CONSTRUCT THE ION CYCLOTRON RESONANCE MASS SPECTROMETER BY WHICH THE PRECISION IN ISOTOPRERATION MEASUREMENT CANBE EVALUATED WECOMPLETED THE MACHINE FEATURED AS FOLLOWS. (1) A PERMANENT MAGNET IS IS ADOPTED TO OBTAIN THE HOMOGENEOUS MAGNETIC FEILD WITH THE STRENGTH OF 0.3 TESLA. THE POLE GAP WAS 40 MM. (2) THE VACUUM SYSTEM WAS COMPOSED OF THE HIGH VCAPACITY OIL DIFFUSION PUMP. THE ULTIMATE VACUUM WAS 10^<-7>PASCAL. (3) A COMMERCIAL WAVE GENERA TOR WITH THE DERECT DIGITAL SYNTHESIZER PEINCIPLE WAS USED FOR EXCITATION OF IONS. (4) A VARIABLE GAS LEAK VALVE WAS ADOPTED FOR FUTURE EXPANSION OF INLET GAS HANDLING SYSTEM. THE IMMEDIATE TARGET IONS WOUD BE THE RESIDUAL GAS SPECIES.^<12>CO AND^<13>CO. (5) COMMERCIALLY AVALILABLE ADD-ON CIRCUIT BOARDS FOR MICROCOMPUTER WERE UTILISED FOR REALISATION OF THE FUNCTION OF ANALOG-TO-DEGITAL CONVERSION OF THE SIGNAL AND CONTROL PULSE GENERATION OF THE SYSTEM. (6) A SOFTWAREPACKAGE COMMERCIALLY AVAILABEL FOR MICROCOMPUTER FACILITATED THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE CONTROL AND MEASUREMENT PROGRAM FOR THE EXPERIMENT THE SOFTWARE WAS ORIGINALLY DEVELOPED FOR USING THE MICROCOMPUTER AS THE FFT ANALYSER.
