Research Abstract |
In this study, characteristics of hydrological cycle over a permafrost area in the Arctic Alaska was investigated. The following results were obtained. 1) In summer, evarporation loss is a important component in a water balance of a permafrost watershed. 2) In summer, the main water supply for a permafrost watershed is the melted permafrost. 3) In snowmelt season, evaporation from snow is very small. 4) Water balance for a permafrost consists of 55% of runoff, 35% of evaporation and 10% of soil storage.
