Research Abstract |
Entrance fee of urban expressway is generally defined on principle of redemption. Considering characteristic of tarffic and ability of collecting tolls, uniform fare is adopted on urban expressway in Japan. There becomes many problems as well as uniform fare circle according to recent extension of expressway network. Two typical problems were investigated to consider future toll system in the research. First, traffic relationship among expressway ruotes was discussed for considering pooled profitable toll system. Particularly, definition of relationship and numerical approarch was shown as an example of Hanshin Expressway. Second, decision of the fare value on overlapped area among uniform fare routes was investigated. As the problem can be formulated as a mathematical programming, its solution will be easily used to discuss change of traffic condition on urban expressway. Lastly, it is concluded that results of analyses suggests producing method of reasonable toll system.
