| Research Abstract |
The aim of the present project is to define the philosophical features of the Prajnaparamita literature, through the integrative researches on the basis of its origination, on its constitutional factors, and so on, including the comparative studies of its philosophy with other ideas. The Prajnaparamita literature is one of the most important bodies of Buddhist literature which work as the basis of Buddhist culture. Unfortunately, however, analytical and integrative researches from the view point of objectivity on the same literature itself, have not been enough done, though one finds some sporadic studies of the same literature through the investigations of Nagarjuna's Madhyamikakarika, the Mahaprajnaparamita-sastra and so forth.

stigating materials, and the collection of materials in each field. The researches were done as follows :
1. Philosophical significance of the Prajnaparamita literature through the investigation of the old Upanis. ads and Jainism (by Murakami and Matsunami).
2. Inheritance and development of the Early Buddhistic ideas in the Prajnaparamita literature (by Hayashima).
3. Relationship of the Prajnaparamita literature between the dogmatic theories in the Abhidharma literature (by Nishimura).
4. Relationship of the Prajnaparamita literature between the Early Mahayana Buddhism (by Takahashi and Mano).
5. The theory of discriminative knowledge in the Prajnaparamita literature, and its relationship between the Buddhist logic, the Madhyamika philosophy and so on (by kajiyama, Tozaki, and Tachikawa).
6. Philosophical development of the Smaller prajnaparamita literature into the Larger Prajnaparamita literature through comparing every Prajnaparamita literature with each other (by kimura, anada, and Nagashima).
7. Factors of the Pure Land Buddhism and the Esoteric Buddhism appearing in the Prajnaparamita literature by Kagawa, Hukuda, and Yoshida).
8. The Prajnaparamita literature and the World Philosophy, so called (by Mineshima).
9. Comparative study of the Prajnaparamita philosophy with the philosophies in the East in general (by Saigusa).
We have started the actual arrangements in order to publish our results of this project two years after. We have been organizing research meetings either in each field or in several fields, including the general meetings. Less
