Research Abstract |
1) dsRNA synthsizing system in vitro of brom mosaic virus was established and also antibodies to all of viral encoded proteins were made. Using these system, signals necessary for dsRNA synthesis by viral RNA polymerase and polypeptide components of RNA polymerase were analyzed.(Furusawa) 2) Five dsRNA species were detected in apple chlorotic leaf sot virus infected plant. Among these ds RNAs, 4.9X10^6 species was found to be a replicative form (Takahashi). 3) dsRNAs were extracted from barley yellow dwarf virus 805 isolate infected plants. electrophoretic analyses of dsRNAs from infected plants collected from various places indicated that there are several strains of barly yellow dwarf virus (Kojima). 4) Four new satellites were isolated by dsRNA analyses of cucumber mosaic virus infected plants collected from fields. Electrophoretic and biological properties and nucleotide sequence were determined for these isolates.(Takanami) 5) Antibodies to dsRNA were produced. Using these antibodies dsRNA-like molecules were isolated from rice plants. 6) Five cryptic viruses were isolated from carrotis. dsRNA genome analyses and cross hybridization analyses showed they were different viruses. Photobiotine hybridiztions porbe detected 2pg of cucumber mosaic virus RNAS. The method was proved to be very sensitive.(Okuda) 7) Serological properties, particle morphologies, properties of genomic nucleic acids, and cellular localization of viruses isolated from rusts and barly 'hanyou byou' were determined (Yamashita). 8) Nucleotide sequences of 5' and 3' terminal regions of rice dwarf vrus genome segments were determined. Terminally conserved sequence was detected and it was different from those of rice blackstreaked dwarf and rice ragged stunt viruses (Ueda).
