Research Abstract

A new type of power interface using synchronizing phenomenon is proposed and analyzed. The following are the research results obtained.
1. The new power interface system employs the AC line as a power storage element instead of conventional batteries, whose maintenance is difficult and sometimes dangerous for domestic use. The AC line and load power is automatically balanced by the interface circuit itself without any external control. In the case where the energy from solarcells is excessive, for example, the rest is recovered to the AC line especially in the case of light load. However, in the case where the power recovery to the AC line is prohibited by law, it is required to control the output power of solarcells and make it not greater than the load power. The new power interface circuit realized this control using Van-Allen's oscillator. 2. The current-voltage characteristic of solarcells varies due to temperature variations and secular changes etc.. The control method presented can derive the maximum solar power with ease under any conditions when it is needed. 3. As an experiment, the power interface circuit is fabricated and tested to confirm that this interface system can handle the power of several kW.
