無機非晶質材料の中距離構造とその制御に関する研究

Research Abstract

酸化物およびフッ化物を中心とする無機非晶質を超急冷法、スパッタ法、ゾル-ゲル法により作製し、分光学的手段等によってその中距離構造を明らかにし、さらに構造と物性との関係についての知見を得た。得られた具体的な成果のうち主なものを以下に項目別に記述する。
1.イメ-ジ炉ー双ロ-ラ-法により作製したMnF_2ーMnO_2ーSiO_2およびMnF_2ーPbF_2ーSiO_2系のオキシフルオライドガラスにおいて、高いフッ化物イオン伝導性が見いだされた。XPS測定に基づき、ガラス中のフッ化物イオンは2種類の異なった化学状態に置かれ、その一方が高イオン伝導に寄与すると類推した。この結果は分子動力学シミュレ-ションにより再現された。
2.鉄あるいはユ-ロピウムを含む酸化物ガラス、シリカゲル、非晶質合金および酸化物結晶に対してメスバウア-効果測定を行い、その結合状態を系統的に整理した。
3.酸化物ガラスにおいて室温で初めてアップコンバ-ジョン蛍光を見いだした。ガラス中の格子振動をフォノンサイドバンドスペクトルから明らかにし、振動エネルギ-および電子ー格子相互作用の大きさの観点から、アップコンバ-ジョン蛍光の出現の理由を明らかにした。
4.酸化物ガラスの破壊現象および高密度化の効果を実験的に調べ、特にホウ酸塩ガラスにおいて塑性変形が起こり得ることを見いだした。
5.スパッタ法によりSiO_2ーAl_2O_3、AlPO_4ーAl_2O_3、TeO_2等の非晶質膜を作製し、EPMAを用いて各イオンの酸素配位数を明らかにし、その結果に基づき膜の物性の組成依存性を説明した。
