Research Abstract |
Historiographical Institute holds the original documents used for the compilation of "FukkoーKi" which gathered fundamental historical materials between 1867 and 1869. Firstly, the group divided these documents under 31 heads, gave the number to each document, and have finished the preparation for the use of investigators. The total number of the documents is a little more than 21, 300. Secondly, the group studied some part of these documents and wrote down necessary items on a card for each document. The total number of the cards is 3, 958. Thirdly, the group cleared up the fact that "Shushi-Kyoku" had researched the library of "Kyoto-Gosho" in 1875, and they had brought necessary documents to Tokyo for the compilation of "Fukko-Ki". Some of them were cited in this source book, but most of all remained unused. Fourthly, the group compared the original documents with their quotation texts in "Fukko-Ki", and found some differences between them. Therefore, they think that a researcher should check the original document, if one wants to cite any document quoted in "Fukko-Ki".
