Research Abstract |
The author researched project and concluded as follows ; 1. After 1973(the first oil shock), revaluation of wooden construction has advanced all over the world (especially in Europe), but in Japan it has not advanced. 2. In Japan, on the contrary, decrease of wooden construction (new house) has developed with local character. In this meaning, Yamagata prefecture is one of the highest wooden construction rate (1988, 87%). Okinawa prefecture is the lowest in Japan (1988, 0.7%). Yamagata prefecture has a lot of wooden construction carpenters (wood construction firms) today, but Okinawa prefecture lost them radically after the World II. 3. Decrease of wooden construction has been caused by housing industrialzation of big business. 4. Consequently, today, for reestablishment of wooden construction (life style and culture), there must be democratic and economic control to big businesses.
