Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
本研究では半導体量子ドット等の半導体ナノ構造を活用することにより、固体ナノ構造中の局所スピン状態およびその時間変化にアクセスできる電気的高速局所スピンプローブを開発し、これを用いて固体ナノ構造中の局所スピン現象を調べた。本年度は特に、電気的高速局所スピンプローブ手法の改良、およびこのスピンプローブを用いた固体ナノ構造中の局所スピン状態ダイナミクスの測定解析を中心に行った。 固体ナノ構造中でのスピン変換現象等をミクロに解明するためには、固体ナノ構造中の局所スピン状態に直接アクセスできる局所スピンプローブが有用となる。半導体量子ドット内にはスピンに依存した準位が存在し、この準位への電子のトンネルを調べることで、固体ナノ構造中の局所スピン状態を調べるプローブを実現することができる。またこのプローブを高周波測定技術と組み合わせることによって、ダイナミクスまで測定することが可能となる。この電気的高速局所スピンプローブを用いて、固体ナノ構造中の局所スピン状態およびそのダイナミクスを調べた。二次元電子ガスからなる電極と結合した半導体量子ドット中の電子スピンについて測定を行い、単一電子レベルで電荷状態とスピン状態の時間変化に差があることを明らかにした。この結果について、ミクロなモデルを構築して計算を行い、実験結果を再現することに成功した。また電気的高速局所スピンプローブの測定手法を活用することにより、他の固体ナノ構造中の局所スピン状態の観測と操作の研究についても貢献した。
