Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
During FY2020 experiments made excellent progress. We established the use of fiber phototometry and GRAB sensors to optically track real-time changes in ACh levels and collected data from four types of cre-targeted mice, CA2-Cre, ChAT-Cre, vGluT2-Cre and PV-Cre. This rich data set has confirmed our hypothesis that CA2 to MS projections can lead to modulation of hippocampal cholinergic tone. Further, we collected and are now analyzing in vivo recordings of optically identified CA2 neurons that project to MS to look at their activity in freely behaving mice. These final data will allow us to prepare a manuscript reporting these results. Further, we continue to share reagents and techniques with multiple project labs, including the Johansen lab, the Hayashi lab and Hayashi-Takagaki lab.
