Outline of Annual Research Achievements

結晶中の電気四極子モーメントを量子力学的に定義するという基本的かつ難解な問題に対する理論研究を行った。局所熱力学を用いてゲージ不変な量子力学公式を得ることに成功した。この理論と第一原理計算を組み合わせて鉄系超伝導体のネマティック相を特徴づける電気四極子モーメントを評価した。その結果から、鉄系超伝導体では量子幾何的な効果が主要な寄与をしていることを見出した。
申請者が過去に行った研究において電流がネマティック秩序を誘起する現象(磁気圧電効果)が予言され、最近の実験によって実証されている。本研究課題ではこの理論を超伝導に拡張し、超伝導体の圧電効果を定式化した。
超伝導の発現機構として、従来型の電子格子相互作用に加えてスピン揺らぎや電荷・軌道揺らぎによるメカニズムが精力的に研究されてきた。本研究課題では、高次多極子揺らぎおよび高次ネマティック揺らぎを波数空間で定式化し、それによる超伝導発現機構を解明した。その結果により、結晶と多極子の対称性により超伝導対称性が決定されることが示された。
電流をある方向に流した際には電気抵抗がゼロ(すなわち超伝導)であり、逆方向に流した際には抵抗が有限(すなわち常伝導)となる現象が2020年に発見され、注目を集めている。現在この現象は超伝導ダイオード効果と呼ばれている。本研究課題では超伝導ダイオード効果の内因的メカニズムを解明した。さらに、超伝導ダイオード効果がヘリカル超伝導相のプローブとして有用であることを示した。
実験グループと協力して、Sr2IrO4におけるPT対称かつ回転対称性が破れたアナポール秩序を解明した。また、アナポール秩序状態における非線形光学応答を定式化し、アナポール秩序変数を詳細に決定する方法を提案した。

Reason

当初の計画通り、電気四極子モーメントの量子力学的定式化と第一原理的な評価に成功した。
また、超伝導圧電効果や超伝導ダイオード効果など新現象の発見があり、超伝導体の新機能性解明という点で当初の計画を超える進展があった。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

今後は、鉄系超伝導体や超伝導人工超格子などの詳細な特徴を取り入れ、より精密な理論の構築を行う。
