| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
KEKが主導する次世代宇宙マイクロ波背景放射(CMB)の偏光観測のプロジェクトである、POLARBEAR II計画、GroundBIRD計画、Simons Array計画などでは、重力レンズ効果によって作られるB-モード偏光を極めて高い精度で測定することができる。このデータを利用すれば、重力レンズ効果を引き起こす、小スケールでの密度ゆらぎの情報を得ることができる。その情報の中には、ニュートリノの絶対質量の情報が含まれており、ニュートリノ質量の絶対値の決定の期待が高まっている。しかし、この研究により、上記のCMBの偏光観測の情報だけからでは、絶対値の決定には不十分であることが明らかとなってきた。それに加え、次の２つの情報が必用であることが示された。(i) 小スケールのゆらぎの情報を反映した、赤方偏移z ～10近辺での、21cm線放射の観測的情報。(ii) バリオン音響振動という、宇宙が物質優勢になった後の宇宙におけるバリオン物質の振動パターンの観測的情報。これらの２種類の相補的な新しい情報を加えれば、ニュートリノ質量の絶対値と、質量階層性を精度よく決定できることが明快に示された(Oyama, Kohri, and Hazumi (2015))。21cm線観測の次世代計画であるSKA (Square Kilometer Array)の建設が進行中である現在、世界的にみても21cm線宇宙論の理論の整備が遅れており、急務であることが指摘された。
