Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では、反応経路自動検索法 (GRRM戦略)を駆使して、有機分子触媒による触媒反応機構を非「決め打ち」的に解明し、触媒過程の制御・設計の指針を見いだす。A. 多成分有機反応の反応性と触媒作用: 尿素、アルデヒドおよびβ-ケトエステル3成分間のビギネリ反応に関し、可能な3種の機構の詳細をGRRM戦略のAFIR法を用いてすべて明らかにし、反応は尿素とアルデヒドの縮合に始まり、そこにエステルが反応するいわゆるイミニウム機構で進む事、この多段階反応のほとんど段階に尿素分子が有機分子触媒として働いている事を明らかにした。また、イソシアニド、アルデヒドおよびカルボン酸間のパッセリニ反応の溶媒効果の起源を解明した。B. 第一級アミン有機分子触媒による不斉直接アルドール反応における水の加速効果: 丸岡らにより設計された第一級アミン有機分子触媒によるアルドール反応に対する添加水の加速効果を理論と実験の共同研究により明らかにした。C: 不斉カウンター陰イオン指向触媒(asymmetric counteranion-directed catalysis, ACDC)の反応機構と制御:最近注目を浴びているエナンチオ選択的細見-桜井反応多成分反応では、どの成分がどのような中間体を始めに生成し、どの成分がどの順番に反応するのか興味が有るところである。AFIR法を適用してエネルギー的に最も好ましい反応の順番や経路を自動的に決定する研究が進行中である。

Reason

多成分有機反応の反応性と触媒作用 および 第一級アミン有機分子触媒による不斉直接アルドール反応における水の加速効果の研究は初期計画には入っていなかったが、GRRM戦略の新しい応用として、新たに発展させる事が出来た。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

有機分子触媒反応の理論的研究に造詣の深い博士研究員(外国人)一名を雇用したので、GRRM戦略を縦横に使ってもらう事により、当初計画を超えて、いくつかの新しい研究テーマに研究が拡張できるようになってきた。たとえば、超原子価ヨード化合物を使ったアルデヒドのC-H活性化及びアシル化に関し、実験化学者と共同でその反応機構の理論研究が進行している。ほかにも、研究領域内の実験研究者との共同研究がいくつか進行中、計画中である。
