<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title> <jats:p>Tin- and samarium(II)-mediated 4-exo-trig radical cyclizations enable the synthesis of highly strained cyclobutane-containing tricyclic compounds related to the right-hand nucleus of solanoeclepin A, a hatching agent of potato cyst nematode.</jats:p>
