Abstract

The relationship between the cumulative rainfall and the peak discharge was discussed mainly in terms of design duration using a large ensemble experiment database (d4PDF). The runoff analysis using the RRI model based on 1500 years of rainfall data obtained from the d4PDF determined the river discharge equivalent to the planned scale on the Omono and Hiji rivers. It was shown that the orders relation between the two-day accumulated rainfall and the peak discharge are different due to the space-time distribution of rainfall. Next, when the design duration was changed variously, the correlations between the accumulated rainfall and the peak discharge ware different depending on the duration. This shows that calculation of peak discharge is possible considering the space-time distribution of various rainfalls using ensemble database.
