Outline of Final Research Achievements

To accomplish the purpose of Topological Materials Science project, we have made a concrete research plan, thereby activating the collaboration among the core projects and also the solicitation projects. To this end, we have held the annual meetings, the international conferences, the topology interactive meetings and the alliance workshops, and have conducted the young researchers programs to establish an interdisciplinary innovative research field. Through these activities, we have put particular emphasis on nurturing young researchers and establishing an international network of collaborations.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

総括班の主導の下に連携研究ネットワークの充実を図り、トポロジカル物質科学の創成を強く推進した。特に、トポロジカル物質科学の新たな局面を切り拓くために必須と考えられる強相関科学やナノサイエンスの最先端技術を駆使した連携研究を促進した。連携研究会、若手励起プログラム、アライアンスワークショップなどの本領域独自のプログラムを実践することで異分野交流を進めるとともに、将来の科学を担う若手研究者を育成し国際的視野を培った。本領域研究を推進することで、トポロジカル量子現象の基礎を構築するとともに、数学なども含む広い学術分野へ波及効果をもたらした。
