Outline of Final Research Achievements |
It is known that cosmic inflation explains the observational data very well, but we have no knowledge of the inflaton that caused inflation. In this project, we carried out multifaceted studies of inflation by taking into accout observational constaints as well as theoretical constraints, and obtained numerous novel results. One of the most important results we obtained in our project is the proposal of the primordial black holes (PBHs)=cold dark matter (CDM) scenario, where PBHs are the black holes formed in the early universe when it was still very hot and dense, from large curvature perturbations produced during inflation. This scenario may be tested in the near future by gravitational wave observations, and it will be a huge step toward full a understanding of the origin of inflation if confirmed.
