Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究は広天域分光銀河サーベイを念頭に、その宇宙論統計量を用いた宇宙論解析手法の開発し、現在の宇宙の加速膨張の起源を解 明することを目的としてい る。新学術領域に属する研究者と協力して、宇宙背景放射、銀河イメージングサーベイを包括的に組み合わ せて、宇宙論パラメータを制限する手法を開発してい る。今年度の成果としては、大規模な宇宙構造形成の数値シミュレーションを実行し、データベース化し、機械学習等も駆使しながら、宇宙論モデルの関数として、宇宙論統計量を高速かつ高精度で計算できるエミュレータを開発した(Nishimichi, Takada, et al.; arXiv: 1811.09504)。これを実際のすばるデータに適用し、宇宙論パラメータを制限する研究を進めている。これに平衡して、すばるデータを用いて、宇宙初期の加速膨張の名残りで形成した可能性がある原始ブラックホールを制限した研究を発表した。原始ブラックホールはダークマターの候補であり、これが本当であれば、ノーベル賞級の大発見である。アンドロメダ銀河のすばるデータを用い、原始ブラックホールによる重力マイクロレンズ効果を探査した結果、原始ブラックホールのイベントは見つからなかったが、月質量程度の原始ブラックホールの存在量についてこれまでにない強い上限を課すことに成功した(Niikura et al. Nature Astronomy, 2019)。
赤外カメラの開発については、プリンストン大学、ジョンズホプキンス大学の研究者らと協力して、検出器の性能評価を進めている。具体的には、検出器の制御システムおよび画像データ解析ソフトを開発・改良し、動作確認、各ピクセルの電荷許容 量、バッドピクセルマップなど基本的な性能を確認している。

Reason

本研究の目的は、広天域のイメージング、分光の銀河サーベイを用いた精密宇宙論、特に加速宇宙の原因であるダークエネルギーの究明を目指している。銀河サーベイを用いた精密宇宙論の達成には、構造形成の非線形性、銀河とダークマターの空間分布の関係の不定性(バイアス不定性)などの不確定性、系統誤差に影響されない手法の開発が不可欠である。この問題について、本研究では宇宙構造形成の数値N体シミュレーションを実行し、大規模なデータベースを作成し、ダークマターハローの統計量(個数、クラスタリング統計量)を高速かつ高精度で計算するエミュレータを開発した。ここでダークマターハローに着目した理由は、銀河がダークマターが特に密集する領域つまりダークマターハローに形成されるという物理的な仮定を採用し、ダークマターハローの統計量を高精度で計算することで、銀河バイアス問題を解決する手法とした。この研究は、本計画研究発足から立ち上げた大規模な計画であったが、その研究結果をまとめた論文を査読論文雑誌に投稿するところまで来た。レフェリーからのコメントも非常に好意的であり、次年度に確実に受理されると思われる。この意味で、準備計画は順調に進んでおり、次年度に宇宙論パラメータの推定などの最終結果の研究を達成出来る予定である。また、宇宙初期の加速宇宙の物理を探る手段になり得る原始ブラックホールについても制限でき、業界で大きな注目を集めている。
本研究の赤外線カメラについても、開発は順調に進んでいると言える。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

2019年度については、これまでに開発した宇宙論物理解析手法をすばるHSCイメージングデータ、またスローン・ディジタル・スカイ・サーベイデータ(SDSS)の分光データに適用し、宇宙論パラメータの推定を行う。ダークマターの総量、宇宙の構造形成の進行度合い、ダークエネルギー、ニュートリノ質量の制限結果を論文にまとめる。本研究計画の目標である、宇宙論パラメータの推定、加速する膨張宇宙の標準モデルの検証、およびそれを超える新しい物理の探索を行う。これまでの進行状況を鑑みると、確実に実行可能と考える。
