Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this project, we analyzed the microstructure of objects for Shitsukan analysis that are difficult to represent with conventional reflection models. We developed techniques to estimate optical phenomena, such as reflections and internal scattering, and the three-dimensional structure of objects by observing objects under various lighting and viewing directions. The question of what kind of accurate reproduction of optical phenomena is necessary for human Shitsukan recognition was investigated.
