Outline of Final Research Achievements

Use of anisotropic nanopores composed of metal-oragnic frameworks (MOFs) for controlling the structures of macromolecules could lead to producing the polymers and nanomaterials with highly regulated structures. For example, we demonstrated that polythiophene can be synthesized in the nanopores of a chiral MOF and chirality can be imparted in the polymer without the introduction of chiral side chains. Crosslinking polymerization in the two-dimensional nanopores of a pilard layer type MOF enabled the synthesis of ultrathin polymer films with only single molecular thickness.

本領域での研究を遂行することで、錯体化学の持つポテンシャルを最大限活かし、多孔性金属錯体(MOF)をベースとした非対称空間の合理的な設計が可能になった。得られた超空間鋳型を用いることで、新しい高分子材料やナノ複合材料の創製、高分子分離技術の開発につながり、今後の循環型社会構築に向けた重要な基盤創製技術に結び付くと期待できる。
