Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本計画研究では、(1)微惑星形成の素過程、(2)惑星形成の素過程、に対して数値計算を用いた徹底的な解明を行い、(3)汎惑星形成理論と太陽系の起源、ではそれらの結果を総合して観測データと整合的な包括的惑星系形成モデル、汎惑星形成理論を構築する。2020年度は主として(1)と(2)について研究を進めた。以下に主な研究の概要を述べる。
(1)微惑星形成の素過程
ダストの成長・移動モデルの構築: 焼結したダスト集合体の衝突計算によって、接触点の多いダストで焼結の効果が効き、跳ね返りによる成長阻害が起こることを示した。雪線内側におけるダスト濃集と重力不安定による岩石微惑星形成のモデル構築: 氷ペブルが移動して雪線の内側に入った際の昇華および氷ペブル内に含まれている岩石ダストの振る舞いを調べ、ペブル流入が多く乱流拡散が弱い円盤では、雪線付近での岩石ダストの堆積により、岩石微惑星が形成されうることがわかった。
(2)惑星形成の素過程
微惑星の衝突・破壊過程: 天王星の巨大衝突で、氷の大規模蒸発が起こり、その後の蒸気円盤の粘性進化と再凝結過程によって形成される衛星の分布が決まることを示した。材料物質の移動を考慮した集積: これまで提案されている円盤との相互作用による惑星軌道進化の公式を修正して統一し、亜音速から超音速まで使える一般的な公式を導出した。ガス惑星の形成: 数値流体計算に基づいてガス惑星の新たな形成モデルを提唱した。ガス惑星は普遍的な進化経路をたどることを発見し、同時に従来問題であった巨大惑星の落下問題を解決した。

本計画研究では、(1)微惑星形成の素過程、(2)惑星形成の素過程、に対して数値計算を用いた徹底的な解明を行い、(3)汎惑星形成理論と太陽系の起源、ではそれらの結果を総合して観測データと整合的な包括的惑星系形成モデル、汎惑星形成理論を構築する。5年計画の前半では主として、(1)と(2)について研究を進める計画であるが、令和3年度も順調に様々な形成の素過程について研究を進めることができ、多数の論文を発表することができた。以上から、進捗状況はおおむね順調であると判断できる。また、さらなる素過程の解明そして(3)の研究のための準備として、数値計算コードの開発を進めているが、これらも順調に進んでいる。以下でコード開発状況について述べ る。 汎用グラフィックプロセッシングユニット(GPU)を用いた惑星集積用多体計算コードの開発を行っている。さらに大規模並列計算機用の惑星集積用大規模多体計算コードGPLUMの開発も進め、試験計算を行っている。これらのコードではガス円盤進化、ガス円盤との相互作用、微惑星の衝突モデルなどを取り入れている。また、ダストから惑星までの広い質量範囲を扱うことが可能な統計的惑星成長計算コードの開発を続けている。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

本研究で目指すのは、最新の星・円盤形成の観測・理論を踏まえた、現実的(非一様かつ動的)な惑星系の形成シナリオを構築することである。これまで計画通りに、(1)微惑星形成の素過程、(2)惑星形成の素過程、の研究が進展している。これらに関しては今後もさらに研究を深めていく。得られた結果を、広いパラメー タ範囲に応用するなどして発展させ、より一般的なものとし、多様な原始惑星系円盤に適用可能な形にまとめていく。また、他の重要な素過程についても引き続き解明を行う。そして、当初計画通り、今後(1)と(2)の新しい知見と他の計画研究から得られた成果を取り込みながら、(3)汎惑星形成理論と太陽系の起源、の研究に本格的に取り組む予定である。そして最終的に、観測データと整合的な包括的惑星系形成モデル、汎惑星形成理論を構築する。上記研究を円滑に進めるために、課題内での定期的な研究会や打ち合わせを行い共同研究を促進する。関連する計画研究との共同研究会も開催し、計画研究間で の共同研究も促進する。また、惑星形成理論に関する国際研究会を開催する予定である。
