Outline of Annual Research Achievements

Cantor合金とCrFeCoNiM(M=Pt,Pd)系に対する第一原理熱力学解析の結果、Cantor合金は高温領域において規則化の傾向は弱く、平均二乗原子変位(MSAD)の値はほぼ一定の値を示し、低温領域においては規則化に伴いMSADの値は減少することを確認した(大谷,榎木)。また相安定性の大域解析として、6種類の構成元素(Fe,Co,Ni,Cr,Mn,Pd)から成る等原子組成系と非等原子組成系と合わせた約900サブシステムの第一原理計算結果と機械学習により、FeCoNiCrMnPd+a(19種類元素)の新探索空間における200以上のバーチャル三元系のfccおよびbcc固溶体安定性予測を試みた(陳)。
実験状態図に関しては、Cr-Mn-X(X=Co,Fe,Ni)三元系の相平衡を実験的に決定した結果、熱力学DB(TCHEA3)に基づく計算状態図との差異は大きく、Cantor合金を構成する基本三元系でさえ、熱力学パラメータの高精度化が必要である事が示された。計算状態図に関しては、Cantor合金およびbcc基HEA(MoNbTaVW)において固液二相域が狭いこと、また本研究のDBに含まれる多くの合金系において高温域でbcc相が安定化される傾向が示された(阿部,大沼,韓)。一方、従来の熱力学DBでは現れなかった(fcc+bcc)の2相領域(実験で確認済)の計算による再現にも成功した(及川,上島)。
HEAにおける拡散挙動の逆問題式解析に関しては、ネルダーミード法を活用した新方法論を構築した(小山,及川,上島)。また多成分拡散理論解析を深化させた結果、HE効果として、遅い拡散(SD)は生じ得ないことを、あらためて論理的に示した(小山,阿部)。また多成分系粒界相モデルに基づき、Cantor合金の粒界偏析について実験と計算を比較した結果、本解析法の定量的有用性が示された(小山,上島)。

Reason

2021年度の主要目標は以下の3点であった。(1)HEAの短範囲規則と力学特性の相関についてその起源を明確化する。(2)HEAを代表とする多成分系における合金設計を念頭に置いた熱力学データベース活用手法を整備する。(3)データ同化および機械学習のHEA分野への展開。これらの目標に対する成果は、以下のようにまとめられる。
まず(1)HEAの短範囲規則と力学特性の相関についての起源解明に関しては、クラスター展開法を援用したMSAD解析法を新規に提案し、さらに規則化傾向と力学特性との相関を見出した。これはHEAの固溶強化が、熱力学の観点から解析できる可能性を示した重要な成果と考える。(2)の熱力学データベース活用法整備に関する成果としては、熱力学と拡散の理論体系整備および熱力学パラメータの集約により、多成分系状態図において、多成分ならではの特徴(固溶体における大きな組成揺らぎの許容や遅い拡散の理論的な考証)に対する理解が進んだ点を挙げることができる。また多成分系の粒界偏析の予測可能性を定量的に示した点も、今年度の重要な成果である。最後の(3)データ同化および機械学習のHEA分野への展開については、HEAの相安定性に対する情報学的解析を実施した。すなわち、6種類の構成元素(Fe, Co, Ni, Cr, Mn, Pd)から成る等原子組成系と非等原子組成系と合わせて約900サブシステムの第一原理計算結果を活用し、機械学習によりFeCoNiCrMnPd + a (19種類元素)の探索空間における200以上のバーチャル3元系のfccおよびbcc固溶体の安定性解析を試みた。これはHEA構造安定性の全体像を、系統的に解明するシステムの構築につながる成果と考える。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

2022年度は、本プロジェクトの最終年度である点に鑑み、本研究で培った研究手法や知見をさらに進展・深化させつつ、成果を系統的にまとめる予定である。特に以下の3点の課題解決に関して、その高度化をはかる(基本的には、2021年度からの継続課題と位置付ける)。(1)HEAの相安定性(短範囲規則やクラスタリング)と力学特性の相関。(2)HEAを代表とする多成分系における合金設計を念頭に置いた熱力学データベース活用法・展開法の高度化。(3)データ同化および機械学習のHEA分野への適用拡大とその限界に関する検討。
具体的には、特殊擬ランダム構造(SQS)に基づく固溶体計算モデルを広く展開するとともに、第一原理電子状態計算と機械学習を組合せることにより、HEAの相安定性に対する異方性やフォノン等の影響を予測する。クラスター展開法・変分法に基づく各種HEA状態図の特徴解明を継続するとともに、モンテカルロシミュレーションにより、各種HEAにおけるクラスタ形成、ならびにエントロピー量と力学特性との相関について検討する。CALPHAD法に基づき各種のHEA状態図の熱力学的アセスメントを継続するとともに、HEAにおける短範囲規則に対する理解を深化させる。また多成分系における合金設計を念頭に置いた熱力学データベース活用法・展開法を高度化する。これまで構築した、拡散対濃度プロファイルを活用したアジョイント法を実際の実験データに適用し、データ同化による熱力学パラメータ推定および拡散パラメータ推定の有効性を実証する。あわせて遅い拡散(Sluggish-Diffusion)との関連性についても検討する。HEA固溶体における粒界偏析や溶解度積等など、多成分系における合金設計を指向した熱力学データベースの効率的活用法を、機械学習の観点から整備する。また機械学習のHEA分野への適用限界についても検討を行う。
