Outline of Annual Research Achievements

多成分状態図の中央近傍の化学組成を持つハイエントロピー合金は、高温でのエントロピー効果や多種類に及ぶ各元素間の引力/斥力相互作用、遅い原子拡 散、大きな格子ひずみといった特徴が複雑に作用して、凝固時及びその後の加工・熱処理中に、従来金属・合金とは大きく異なるミクロ組織形成を生じると考え られる。本計画研究は、凝固・鋳造、加工熱処理、粉末冶金、3D プリンティングという、4種類の重要プロセスを通じてハイエントロピー合金のナノ・ミクロ組 織やマクロ形態の制御を行い、ハイエントロピー合金特有の組織形成過程と機構を明らかにするとともに、ナノ・ミクロ組織と種々の特性の相関関係を明らかに して、望ましい特性の合金を作製するためのプロセス指針を獲得することを目的とする。
2020年度は、前年度までに構築した研究基盤や手法・知見を活用して、京大・辻、京大・安田、立命大・飴山、東北大・千葉が、それぞれ加工・熱処理、凝固・鋳造、粉末冶 金、3D プリンティングの各プロセスを担当し、各研究室の研究協力者、ポスドク、大学院生とともに、研究室間の緊密な連携を取りつつ研究を推進した。また新学術領域内の他班・公募班研究者との連携研究も拡大した。J- PARC・ハルヨは研究協力者として加工熱処理中の中性子その場回折実験を補助した。領域全体に共通試料やデータを提供することによって、ハイエントロピー合 金に関する新学術の創成に寄与するとともに、ハイエントロピー合金の実用化を見通した基礎的知見の蓄積を行なった。前年度までに得られた知見を元にFCC単相構造を有するハイエントロピー合金の組織解析・特製解明に関する研究をさらに深化・発展させるとともに、高温材料として期待される高融点BCCハイエント ロピー合金の研究を展開した。

Reason

2020年度は、以下の研究成果を得た。(1)安田グループと辻グループの共同研究により、HfNbTaTiZr合金の派生形である5種類の等モル四元系BCC単相合金における凝固偏析の形成およびその機械的性質に及ぼす影響を明らかにした。(2)独自に設計したBCCマトリクスを有する析出強化型RHEAを対象に、粉砕法とGA法の2種類の方法でEBM造形用の粉末を作製した。(3)TiNbZrHfTa高エントロピー合金のメカニカルアロイングによる作製を試み、BCC相中に析出するわずかなα相が高強度化に寄与する可能性が見出された。(4)時間分解X線イメージング・X線回折、その場蛍光X線分析を用いて、CrMnFeCoNi系における等モル組成を含む擬二元系の凝固パスを決定するとともに、測定データから構成元素の固液間の分配に関する近似式を導出した。またCrFeCoNi四元系においてコングルーエントに近い組成を見いだした。得られた成果を、1件の図書(ハイエントロピー合金に関する初めての和書)、59件の学術雑誌論文、5件の招待講演、15件の国際会議発表、46件の国内学会発表として公表した。発表した学術雑誌論文は、Nature Communications誌(IF=12.121)1件、Science Advances誌(IF=13.117)1件、Acta Materialia誌(IF=7.656)7件、 Scripta Materialia誌(IF=5.079)4件などを含む。参画する各研究室の多くの学生と若手ポスドク研究員がハイエントロピー合金に関する研究を行い、先端的な研究を通じて若手人材育成にも貢献できた。 以上のように、当初予定通りに各プロセスを用いたハイエントロピー合金研究が順調に進展し、予想以上に多くの論文および学会発表として成果を発表できて おり、当初の計画以上に研究が進展している。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

京大・辻、京大・安田、立命大・飴山、東北大・千葉が、それぞれ加工・熱処理、凝固・鋳造、粉末冶金、3D プリンティングの各プロセスを担当し、研究室間 の緊密な連携を取りつつ研究を推進する。領域全体に共通試料やデータを提供することによって、ハイエントロピー合金に関する新学術の創成に寄与するととも に、ハイエントロピー合金の実用化を展望した基礎的知見の蓄積を行う。第2年度までに各プロセスで得られた結果をさらに発展させるとともに、プロセス(研 究室)間で情報を交換し、共通する内容の討論を進化させて、ハイエントロピー合金の組織・特性制御をより包括的に明らかにしてゆく。
2021年度は、前年度それぞれが獲得した成果をもとに、それぞれの研究室で各プロセスの高度化と最適化を行うとともに、複数のハイエントロピー合金を用いた実験を深化させ、各結晶構造・相構成ごとのナノ・ミクロ組織形成機構の違いや、基本的力学特性、さらには組織と力学特性の間の相互作用を明らかにする。具体的には、(1)時間分解X線イメージング・X線回折などの手法を駆使した凝固過程の解明、(2)様々な系・種類のハイエントロピー合金の組織超微細化と力学特性への影響の解明、(3)新規ハイエントロピー合金の調和組織化とその変形機構の解明、(4)様々なBCC系ハイエントロピー合金の3Dプリンティングの展開、などを実施する。計画研究内の5つの研究室(グループ)間の共同研究を増加させ、計画班一体となって、種々のプロセスによるハイエントロピー合金のナノ・ミクロ組織およびマクロ形態制御の学理を確立する。また、領域内の異なる計画班および新規採択分を含む公募班との連携・共同研究をさらに発展させる。
