Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究の目的は素粒子標準模型における未解決問題を解決する模型や大統一模型に対する新たなアイデアを提案し、ニュートリノ物理で探ることの出来る新物理の範囲を広げていくことにある。以下本年度の主な成果例を挙げる。
(1)超共形理論とニュートリノ振動観測の両方面から着想を得た新しい理論モデルを提唱した。このモデルでは、素粒子標準理論が抱える宇宙論的問題であるインフレーション、ダークマター、宇宙バリオン数の問題を一貫して説明可能となっている。
(4)sub-GeV 質量を持つ暗黒光子は近年注目を集めている暗黒セクター模型に多く現れる。暗黒光子による宇宙の有効ニュートリノ世代数への影響について精密計算を行い、有効世代数が標準模型予言よりも小さくなることを示した。その結果将来のCMB観測によりこれまでに制限されていないパラメータ領域を検証可能であることを示した。
(3)No-scale flipped SU(5)統一模型において1重項の場がインフラトンとなるシナリオを研究した。その結果、CMB による観測と無矛盾なインフレーションを実現しつつ、ニュートリノ質量・混合角、暗黒物質残存量、バリオン数非対称性の観測値を説明出来ることを示した。
(4)数論幾何の専門家との共同研究を行い、虚数乗法を持つ楕円曲線に付随して定まるモジュラー形式が弦理論においてどのような解釈を持ちうるかを調べた。結論として、それらの楕円曲線を対象空間とする弦理論における、あるクラスのカイラル相関関数がちょうどそのモジュラー形式に当たることを示した。
(5)宇宙にバリオン数が存在する謎が、宇宙のインフレーション直後におこるニュー トリノ振動現象に由来するものである可能性およびその検証法についての研究を行った。またQCDにおいてハドロンの理論とクォークの理論の関係が3次元ゲージ理論の双対性と関連している可能性について指摘した。

理由
本年度も素粒子標準模型における未解決問題である暗黒物質、物質反物質非対称性の起源、強い相互作用におけるCP対称性の破れなどに対し様々な新しい模型を提案した。また、上述の暗黒光子に関する研究はニュートリノを用いて暗黒セクター模型の可能性を検証する可能性を広げる成果であり、「ニュートリノで拓く素粒子と宇宙」全体に対する重要なインプットとなる成果といえる。またQCDのクォーク理論とハドロン理論の関係の新たな可能性の指摘は素粒子模型の根幹をなす場の量子論の理解の深化につながり新物理模型の探求において重要な成果だといえる。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

引き続き新物理模型の提案を行う。またこれまでの新提案を発展させ、検証可能性や理論的側面をより詳細に研究する。これらの研究を通してニュートリノ物理 に対する新たなインプットを与えていく。以下いくつかの研究計画を挙げる。
(1). 暗黒光子が非可換ゲ ージ理論から得られる可能性について考察を進める。特に非可換ゲージ対称性の自発的対称性の破れに伴うトポロジカル欠陥が kinetic mixing を通じて QED にどのような影響を与えるのかについて研究を進める。
(2). 暗黒光子が暗黒物質となる可能性についても調べる。特に宇宙線観測(拡散ガンマ線、点光源からのガンマ線)に着目して調べる。
(3). 第二世代と第三世代のレプトン数の差をゲージ対称性として持つように標準模型を最小拡張した模型では,ニュートリノ質量行列の構造が 強く制限されることが知られている。本年度はこの模型におけるレプトジェネシスを研究し,観測されたバリオン数非対称性をこの模型で説明することができるかを調べる。
(4). 1980年代より、陽子崩壊がモノポールを触媒として引き起こされることが盛んに議論されている。今年度、このモノポール陽子反応に関して、模型の依存性やシグナルの詳細に関する研究を行い、現在および将来実験での検証可能性について精査する。
(5). 超弦理論のモジュラー不変性が低エネルギー有効理論のスペクトルに非自明な制限をもたらすというアイディアを追求し、適用範囲の拡大 を目ざす。また、低エネルギー有効理論のアノマリーとの関連も調べる。また、虚数乗法のある多様体でのコンパクト化の現象論て帰結を調べる。
