Outline of Research at the Start

ALMA望遠鏡やセンチ波干渉計EVLAを駆使し、大型プロジェクトなどをベースとして原始惑星系円盤形成領域の物理状態と化学組成分布を従来よりも10倍以上高い感度・分解能(数10天文単位スケール)で明らかにする。これにより、ラジカル種も含め、炭素鎖分子などの不飽和有機分子、酸素を含む様々な大型有機分子、硫黄を含む分子、窒素を含む分子の分布の相互の位置関係や温度・密度状態、さらには存在量比や同位体比率の変化などを捉え、観測的視点から分子の生成過程にアプローチする。実験班や理論班からの知見とあわせ、惑星系形成における化学進化とその多様性の全貌を明らかにし、分析班と協働で太陽系の化学的起源に迫る。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

観測班の研究計画は概ね3つにまとめられる。①統計的議論が可能になる100個以上の原始惑星系円盤形成領域に対し、ALMA望遠鏡などを用いた多波長の高感度・高分解能分子輝線観測を展開し、原始惑星系円盤の化学的多様性の全貌とその起源を明らかにする。②また、紫外線強度や元素組成比などの異なる環境にある天体の化学組成を、その物理構造とともに明らかにする。③観測研究の推進に必要な有機分子同位体やラジカルのスペクトル線周波数の精密測定も並行して行う。

今年度は、それぞれに対し、下記の成果を得た。①ペルセウス座分子雲でのSO分子の振る舞いについての論文を取りまとめ、投稿した、また、同領域に対して、野辺山45m望遠鏡を用いた大スケール分子分布観測のデータ解析を行った。アルマ望遠鏡大型観測プロジェクトFAUST(国際共同研究)については、データ取得および解析を行い、一部の天体について様々な分子ガスの運動状態の解析結果などをとりまとめた。②重元素の少ない銀河系外縁部天体のアルマ観測に基づく研究を進めた。大質量星形成領域の化学としては、ALMAを用いた太陽系から最も近い大質量原始星Orion KL Source Iの円盤観測を進めた。また、円盤の不安定性に起因する突発的な質量降着現象を解明するためのALMAを用いた時間変動の観測的研究も進めている(Hirota et al. submitted)。③スペクトル線周波数の精密測定のために必要な分子分光装置(Band7+8受信機)の開発を行った。また、13CH2DOH分子の分光測定を行い、結果を取りまとめて投稿した(Ohno et al. submitted)。

また、理論班との共同研究に基づく星間分子の化学脱離過程の研究や、ジェイムズ・ウェッブ宇宙望遠鏡による星間氷観測の予備研究も進めた。なお、上記の研究の効率的遂行にあたって、Shaoshan Zeng氏(有機分子観測)、小山貴裕氏(分光実験)の2名の研究員を雇用した。

2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.

Reason

コロナにより、アルマ望遠鏡停止や、その結果生じた観測公募倍率の急騰、国際共同研究推進の困難などがあったが、国内望遠鏡での観測研究や実験装置開発などに先んじて集中して取り組み、後者については想定以上の成果を得られた。特に、想定よりも早く今年度のうちに、精度の高い分子分光データを得ることができ、論文を投稿できた。総評して、概ね順調に進展していると言える。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

国際共同研究の加速が必要であるため、コロナ禍ではあるが、海外渡航も検討する。装置開発においても、いくつかの部品やサンプルが入手しづらくなっているが、代替品や予定より早めた時期に発注するなどして対応していく。
