Outline of Research at the Start

行動変容を創発する原理を解明するため、領域内で共通して計測される身体情報の標準化を行い、広域・局所脳動態計測によって脳-身体-行動連関を抽出する手法を開発する。行動変容に関わる身体情報はカメラ画像を用いて計測されるが、個体や課題ごとに異なり比較のためにその標準化が必要である。本研究では行動変容に関わる複数のタスクにおいて、個体内あるいは個体間で共通する身体情報の標準化を3Dマッピング技術により行い、それを駆動する脳回路動態の抽出を行い、それらの関係性を潜在空間での座標の変化として捉え行動変容を定量評価する。これにより、心的状態が駆動する脳-身体-行動機能連関である行動変容の基盤を明らかにする。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では、行動変容生物学の分野において、身体情報と脳活動の同時計測データを大規模に蓄積し、そこから共通の低次元特徴量を抽出することで動物の学習・意思決定メカニズムを解明することが目的である。総括班との共同研究において25匹のマウスにレバー引き課題を実施し、複数台の高速度カメラによる身体情報計測と、1光子Ca2+イメージングによる大脳皮質活動の同時計測を行った。これらのデータには、前年度までに確立した身体情報・脳活動抽出パイプラインを適用し、高精度な特徴抽出とデータベース構築を実現した(Kondo et al., 2025)。
これらマウスの脳活動と身体情報を用いた解析として、従来の機能的結合解析(2体間相関)ではなく、3体以上の相互作用を含む統合情報量に注目した。古典的条件付け学習タスクにおいて、身体情報と脳活動の統合情報量を比較・評価した結果、後部頭頂皮質(PPC)の活動が統合情報量に寄与することを明らかにしている(Phi et al., 2024)。
さらに、分担者の篠本らはスパイクトレインからの機能的結合推定手法に関する総説を執筆し(Kobayashi et al., 2024)、スパイクデータに内在する発火率の非連続性を補正する新規推定アルゴリズムも提案した(Tsubo et al., 2024)。東は視覚的誘導課題における行動データ計測・解析を通じて、探索搾取モデルとは異なる視覚的注意依存プロセスの存在を示すとともに(Higashi, 2024)、EEGのシングルチャネルデータにニューラルネットワークを適用して新規特徴量を抽出するアルゴリズムを開発した(Higashi, 2024)。これら一連の技術基盤により、高品質かつ大規模な身体情報と脳活動データベースから多次元的な情報抽出が可能となった。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

これまでに確立した、脳活動と身体情報を抽出するパイプラインに基づき、それらが個体間で共通する特徴を抽出する技術の開発に注力し、高品質な行動変容生物学データベースの有用性がわかるような解析を行っていく。
