Outline of Research at the Start

本領域研究において、A01班は考古学的方法によって先史人類の社会構造について研究を行い、人類学的な手法によって検証すべき仮説を提示する役割を担っている。具体的には、各地の旧石器時代・縄文時代・弥生時代・古墳時代の遺跡における墓地・墓域において、考古学的な観点からこれまで家族・世帯の埋葬地点と目されてきた墓群や、階層性を示すと思われる墓群および特定個人を抽出し、考古学的な埋葬属性を検討することによって、当該遺跡が属する時代の親族・社会構造について考古学的仮説を立て、年代測定、炭素・窒素・ストロンチウム同位体分析、DNA 分析を行うことによって、その仮説の検証を目指すものである。
