Research Abstract |
Transoceanic fights between Japan and China have been successfully performed since 1986. Eight balloons were launched from 1986 to 1988. In 1986, two test flights were conducted from Kagoshima Space Center to see the flight performance, and the results were satisfactory. In 1987, two balloons for the scientific observations were launched. Each payload was recovered near Jintan and Hangzhou area. In 1988, four balloon for the scientific observations were launched from Kagoshima Space Center in August. The subjects of observations were the Diffuse Galactic Infra-rad, the Galactic X-ray Stars, the Near Infra-red Spectrum from the Stars and the High Energy Cosmic Ray Electrons. Unfortunately one balloon was in failure during ascending, but 3 balloons were successfully recovered after the scientific observations. And all balloon-borne instruments worked and many useful scientific data could be obtained.
