The three year research was composed of compilation of relevant bibliography, seminars by participating researchers, interviews with professional interpreters, experiments, and repeated simulations. As the result of this study we could (1) deepen discussion on foreign language instruction and interpretation, (2) enhance research on the technique of interpretation to unprecedented level, and (3) saw possibilities for constructing some theory on interpreter education.
On foreign language education, the research concluded that total, holistic approach toward communication s important rather than emphasising grammars and reading comprehensions. In the area of interpreter education, it was pointed out that general Knowledge plays vital role in advancing interpretation skills.
