The study includes a sample of students who are mentally retarded with the chronological ages ranging from 15 to 18. The purposes of the study are mentioned below : 1-1. To study the degree of physical sexual maturity and awareness of sexuality among the mentally retarded students, 1-2. To study the knowledge and awareness of the sexuality of the mentally retarded students by their parents, 2-1. To make a curriculum on annual basis in order to put into practice the sexual education for those students, 2-2. retarded students and normal students. In regard to the awareness of the sexuality of the mentally retarded students by their parents, however, there were several problems. This indicates that it is essential to educate the parents as well as the students in sex education of the mentally retarded, cooperate and provide them with guidance in this area. 2. Our analysis of the result of the observation of teaching sex education in the classroom provided us with such information about the characteristics and behavior of sexuality of the retarded students that it is especially desirable to achieve the following objectives in order to prepare teaching texts and materials : (1) To make them attractive and well motivating to each individual, (2) To make them simple and easy to comprehend as well as flexible to apply to a variety of situations, (3) To make them stimulating the senses of the students sufficiently, (4) To make designs in such a way that the students can easily hold images of those body parts which are not exposed and therefore invisible to them, (5) To use those objects as real as possible in our daily life. We are particularly concerned about such goals as making plans for guidance in sex education in details as well as providing more data to conduct statistical analysis by increasing the frequency of teaching sex education in the classroom.
