Research Abstract

1.電子物性:多数のsp電子系準結晶合金について、電気抵抗、電子比熱の測定を系統的に行った結果、状態密度にpseudogapが存在し、e/a=2.1のときにフェルミレベルがギャップの所に位置し、準結晶が安定化して電気抵抗が著しく大きくなることが明らかになった。安定相の電気抵抗の温度依存性には電子の弱局在の効果が顕著である。また、準結晶は欠陥が少いほど電気抵抗が大きく結晶と対照的であることも分った。
2.マクロ磁性:AlーCuーMn系準結晶の磁性に関する研究を行い、従来のAlーMn系の場合と異なり、アモルファス状態のMnの有効磁気モーメントが準結晶に比べて非常に大きく、モーメントを持つサイトが準結晶ではMn濃度に強く依存することが明らかになった。Mnを他の遷移金属で置換した効果も調べられた。
3.微現的磁性:AlーMnーSiーRu4元系の準結晶および結晶相は、巨視的磁性に関しては両者に大きな差が無いにもかかわらず、NMR測定により伝導電子を介してAl核におよぼす内部磁場の大きさには著しい差のあることが明らかになった。また、安定相準結晶Al_<65>Cu_<20>Fe_<15>の^<57>Feメスバウアスペクトルの温度依存性、熱処理依存性、メカニカルグラインディングによるアモルファス相への変化のようすなどを観測し、準結晶中では特に^<57>Fe核位置の電場勾配の値が電荷密度と大きな相関が見られた。
4.励起状態の伝播:GaAs-AlAsフィボナッチ超格子中の励起電子のふるまいを蛍光の発光スペクトルおよび蛍光の減衰で調べ、低いエネルギー状態に励起された電子は4Kで動けなくなるが、高いエネルギー状態に励起された電子の50%ぐらいは、ピコ秒ぐらいの間に試料の端まで動くことなどを見出した。
5.その他:AlーFeーCu中のフェイゾン歪の性質およびその焼鈍過程を明らかにした。AlーRuーCu準結晶の高温変形に関する研究を行った。
