A Standard Radar Portable Format (RAP format) is made by us in 1992.
This RAP format consists of the file format for data made by radar and the file format for retrieving the data file.
Now, we are implementing some kinds of program by using RAP format for public domain as follows :
1) Translation and basic analysis libraries for main frame by FORTRAN source code.
2) Translator from radar data recorded in tape to RAP format and radar data browser for Apple Macintosh and NEC PC-9801.
3) Some kinds of Module for AVS by Stardent Computer INC.
And we are planning to implement some programs and libraries for other computers as follows :
1) Radar data browser for IBM-PC with VGA and Windows.
2) Translation and basic analysis libraries for Unix by C or C++ source code.
This project for RAP format is still going. We hope this format to be widely used by researchers using weather radars.
