Research Abstract

デバイス機器の高周波化により、磁性材料の発熱による磁気特性の低下(鉄損)が問題となっている。特に、渦電流に起因する鉄損は、使用する周波数の2乗に比例して増加する性質があるため高周波域で使用される磁性体には高抵抗化が必要である。また、高い磁化率を得るためにはFe, Co, Ni等は非酸化物であることが望ましい。
一方、ボロンナイトライド(BN)物質には、絶縁体であり、耐熱性、熱伝導性に優れ、他の物質との反応性が低いという特徴が挙げられる。したがって、絶縁体であるBN物質中にメタル磁性ナノ粒子を内包することができれば、高抵抗、高磁化率、耐酸化性に優れた磁性材料の合成が期待できる。本研究では、メタル磁性ナノ粒子とBNケージ物質からなる磁性材料の合成・構造解析・時期特性評価を行った。
メタル磁性ナノ粒子をBNケージ物質中に内包する方法として2種類の合成プロセスを開発した。まず、窒化物のエリンガム図より、出発原料としてFe_4N粉末とB粉末を選択した。これらの混合粉末を熱処理することにより、bcc-Fe@竹型BNナノチューブを合成した。また、有機金属錯体を用いた合成法として、[Co(NH_3)_6]Cl_3とKBH_4粉末を選択し、窒素ガス気流下での加熱により、fcc-Co@BNナノカプセルを合成した。VSM測定装置を用いて、PC試験による磁気特性評価を行った結果、BN層の形成により耐酸化性と耐食性が得られることを確かめた。また、bcc-Fe@竹型BNナノチューブとCo@BNナノカプセルの形成メカニズムを提案した。
本研究により、BNケージ物質中に非酸化メタル(Fe, Co)ナノ粒子を内包した磁性材料が合成できた。また、メタルナノ粒子をBNケージ物質で被覆した結果、耐酸化性・耐食性が向上された。BNケージ物質が絶縁体であることから、高周波機器中で用いる磁心、電波吸収体としての利用が期待できる。
