In this study, some important subjects in order to evaluate the traffic management (or control) schemes, such as, analysis of traffic flow, development and improvement of running simulation model, and measurement for both change of running conditions and exhausting condition and exhaust gas volume, have been executed.
The major results are summarized as follows.
1) Analysis of traffic flow : Some regression lines which were essential to develop the running simulation model, such as, average speed, peak speed of each mode, number of mode sets, stopping ratio in cruising area and so on, were obtained.
2) Development and improvement of running simulation model : The model corresponding to two types of traffic flow, such as congestion and non-congestion flow, appeared in case of same traffic volume, were proposed.
3) Estimation of exhaust gas volume by case study : The possibility of practical use of this model were demonstrated through the case study intended for simple road network.
4) Evaluation of traffic management (or control) schemes : Both changes of running conditions and exhausting conditions according to introduction of some traffic management schemes were measured by using this model.
Proposal of introduction system of traffic management schemes : In order to reduce the exhaust gas volume, the introduction procedure of some traffic management schemes were proposed by using this model.
