Research Abstract |
Serun albumin (ALB), vitamin D binding protein (GC), pre-albumin (Pre-ALB), protease inhibitor (PI), glucosephosphate isomerase (GPI), phosphogluconate dehydrogenase (PGD) and esterase-D (Es-D) polymorphisms in Japanese quail were investigated for genetic linkage analysis. ALB,Pre-ALB,GPI,PGD and Es-D polymorphisms were already demonstrared in previous articles. In this study, further GC polymorphism were observed by isoelectric focusing (IEF) and immunoblotting using rabbit antichicken GC.Three phenotypes were observed. These were controlled by two autosomal codominant alleles named Gc^A and Gc^B. Double backcrosses among seven loci were examined for the linkage analysis. The segregation data established close linkage between the Alb and Gc loci. The recombination frequency was estimated 0.014 <plus-minus> 0.006 (P<0.001). No clear signs of linkage were observed among Alb-Gc complex, Pre-alb, Pi, Gpi, Pgd and Es-D loc
