Research Abstract

最近、強磁性/高温超伝導の積層薄膜がボルテックスのピン止めやスピン偏極キャリアー注入などの基礎科学分野で注目されている。一方、このような2層膜は携帯電話中継基地局で使用される可変マイクロ波フィルター・デバイスとしての応用が期待できる。磁場を印加すると、強磁性層の透磁率が変調され、超伝導層を伝播するマイクロ波の伝播モードが変調でき、定在波共鳴周波数がシフトできる。つまり、このような積層膜の作成と単層薄膜の電気的・磁気的性質、高温超伝導層の磁場下でのマイクロ波吸収が重要な研究課題となる。さらに、積層膜作成中の下層膜(強磁性層と高温超伝導層)の劣化の問題と、応用上その経時劣化が大きな問題となる。
YBCO薄膜のa-c配向成長メカニズムを調べるために、基板表面に酸素プラズマを照射して表面粗さを制御し、その上にYBCO薄膜を成長して、<表面マイグレーション機構>の重要性を証明した。強磁性LBMO単層薄膜を作成し、磁気的性質を調べた。金属-絶縁体転移温度はキュリー温度よりもかなり低いので、2相分離モデルを適応した。負の磁気抵抗を強磁性粒の二重交換相互作用で、正の磁気抵抗をその磁気伸縮モデルで説明できた。あるデバイス温度では強磁性で絶縁性であるので、可変マイクロ波フィルターの強磁性層として適用可能である。高品質のYBCO薄膜をLBMO薄膜上に積層できた。積層中にLBMO層の結晶性は劣化しないが、2層膜の表面粗れが増強した。LCMO/YBCO超格子薄膜のマイクロ波吸収を測定し、重要な結果を得た。磁場を膜面に垂直に印加すると大きなマイクロ波吸収を示すが、平行に印加するとそれはほとんどゼロであった。つまり可変マイクロ波フィルターに適用するときに、磁場を平行に掛ければマイクロ波の損失を小さく抑えることができる。
