Research Abstract |
The major object of vetilation in a room is to replace contaminated air with fresh air as quickly as possible. The well-known ventilation criterion "air exchange rate" widely used till now is a very simple and useful measure for estimating total ventilation. However, the air exchange rate explains only overall ventilation effectiveness but does not represent the ventilation efficiency at each point in a space. In order to design high-level contamination control, it is necessary to develop new criterion ventilation efficiency. In our research group, various scales for measuring ventilation efficiency have been proposed in order to evaluate the distribution of ventilation effectiveness at each point in a space. In particular, the measurement of the ventilation efficiency of the various buildings was conducted in both the field experiment and the scale model experiment. And also numerical simulation of the airflow movement of indoor space was carried out and the prediction method of ventilation efficiency was examined.
