Research Abstract |
The purpose of this study was to frame a periodontal preventive plan on epidemiological situation. This study consisted of 3sub-studies. The methods and results were followings. 1.Epidemiological study : old age group was worse than young age group on periodontal status. Most of probing pocket depth(PD)and attchment level(AL)showed any change for 3 years. But AL with deep pocket over 4mm at baseline showed more attachment loss than AL with shallow pocket less than 4mm. There were site specificity and individual specificity. 2.Dental Health Situation : Old age group did not have many teeth when who was prefer to eat sweet food. Oral health situation related to life-style, smoking general health condition and place of residence. 3.Prevention of Periodontal Disease : Preventive education. effected oral health. Especially 3 times education is most effective than 1 time on group oral health education And, it was very important to lead the patient to a better understanding of one's periodontal disease.
