1.Measurement of charge transfer cross sections by means of the growth rate method : Head investigator has measured the charge transfer cross sections for the following collision systems by means of the growth rate method using a position sensitive michrochannnel plate (MCP-PSD) and had some new knowledge concerning the charge transfer processes. (1)^3He^<2+>-H_2 (0.25-1.2keV) (2)H^+-H_2, CO,CO_2, CH_4 (0.1-4.0 keV) (3)H^+, C^+, -D_2 (0.1-4.5 keV) (4)O^+-H_2, CO,CO_2, CH_4 (0.2-4.5 keV) (5)C^+-C_2H_2, C_2H_4, C_2H_6, C_3H_4 (Allene), C_3H_4 (methylacetylene), C_3H_6, (CH_2) _3, C_3H_6 (0.2-4.5 keV) 2.Measurement of charge transfer cross sections by means of the beam attenuation method : Charge transfer cross sections of C^+ ions in collisions with H_2 and CH_4 molecules by means of the beam attenuation method are larger than those by growth rate method. It is found to be difficult to measure the charge transfer cross sections with high accuracy at very low energy region. 3.Construction of apparatus for the measurement of charge transfer cross sections by using the octo pole ion beam guide method : In order to suppress the scattering of both primary and product particles, collision cell with octo pole ion beam guide has been constructed. It took a long time to make this complex system, so head investigator could not measure the cross sections at very low energe region during terms of this project. We will fully equip this collision system and measure the cross sections below 0.1 keV in energey.
