Research Abstract |
The purposes of this research study are following three ; The first, to clarify the effects of urbanism on personal networks comparing ones among several cities. The second purpose is to clear the effects of the characteristics of class, family, as well as urbanism, on persond networks. The trird purpose is to grasp "loose-tie networks" through the case study of research of several persons' New Year's cards, and to reveal links of personal networks to the structure of urban society, namely the orgarizations or groups, by the case study. Following the first and second research purposes, on 1994,1995, we discussed the working hypotheses, made the quastronnaires, and investigated the research of 7 communities in our country. The 7 research points are Bunkyo-ku, chofu city in Tokyo, Chuo-ku, Nishi-ku in Fukuok City, Niigata City, Fuji City, Matsue City, and we selected each 300 samples by each voting rolls at 7 points. The rate of collecting questionnaires is about 48% as a whole. On the third academic year, 1996, we investigated the New Year's cards research in order to perform the third research purpose. We are arranging and analysing the findings of this case study now. The details, of these research methods and analyzes of results are wtitten in Chapter 2- Chapten 11 of the research report.
