Research Abstract |
To clarify the effect of local topographic configuration on the disaster for strong wind, following investigations were carried out : (1) the prediction of azimuthal strong wind speed for arbitrary point was achieved by the multiple regression analyzes with new micro-scale terrain factors obtained from scenery pictures, which represent sheltering and convergence effect, (2) the estimation of speed-up ratio on the top of two dimensional hill was experimentally given by the slop of the hill, the roughness length of the hill surface, the power component of wind profile, etc., (3) the validity of both estimation as mentioned above was investigated by the field observation and wind tunnel experiment with scales terrain model. the estimated values and observed wind speeds show good correspondence.
