The theme of this study is the comprehensive study concerning of the desireble way and the role of the attached school of the national university.
We investigated about the attached school of the national university for two years from 1995 to 1996.
In situation of total restructuring, every university or department of teacher traininng reduced scale, because of decreasing of number of a child, and the reason of the national attached school must be repaired.
In such situation, we needed to define the reason of the national attached school.
There are 261 national attached schools in the whole country.
We investigated to all principals, all second principals and one-third teaches of whole national attached schools. Also, we investigated to professors, assistant professors etc, of university or department of teacher training.
Actually, we visited the following schools and investigated them concretely.
They are the attached schools of Nara Women's University, Nara University of Education, Tokyo Ga
kugei University, Miyagi University of Education, Fukushima university, Aichi University of Education, Nagoya University, Tsukuba University and Hiroshima University.
Our report of this study carries the following contents.

(2)Summary of investigation to principals, second principals and teachers of the attached school
(3)Summary about visit investigation
(4)Summary of investigation to teaching-staffs of university or department of teacher training
In the Japanese modernization, the attached school turned big contribution into the modernization of Japanese education and the development of education.
In the post-war Japan, too, these attached school playd important role in democratization of education and improvement of education method. But, we do not understand whether all attached schools can survive in future.
Nevertheless education will become more and more important for the 21st century, and progress of education will continue increasingly.
In order to meet this situation, the national attached school must play big role.
Therefore we should maintain the attached schools which they are possible for a study necessary really, and should give important responsibility. Less
