1. EEG measurement
There was no special equipment for EEG measurement at SPECT scanner. However, for the measurement at MRI scanner, we have to use the silver electric rod with carbon fiber code to get the stable signal.
And additional filter was required to get the EEG signal in case of functional image sequence, because of their fast sequences.
2. SPECT measurement
The CBF study was performed using I-123 IMP and Tc-99m ECD.There was significant correlation between CBF with I-123 IMP and Tc-99m ECD in pre-task cases. Separation measurement (small doses in 1st measurement and large doses in 2nd measurement) using Tc-99m ECD was performed to the same patient. Thyroid gland was appeared at the 2nd measurement. The examination time between 1st and 2nd measurement was over 1 hours. The appearance of thyroid gland was due to the effect of free Tc-99m. Shortening the time schedule must be required to get the accurate CBF using Tc-99m ECD.
3. fMRI measurement
fMRI was performed using echo planner images. Z-score analysis represented the significant signal increased area in case of hand movement task. However, for the evoked potential task, there is no significant signal increased area on fMRI.
4. Software development
Three software developments were performed. The one was for the segmentation between white and gray matter, the second was for the statistical analysis software for the fMRI using Z-test and t-test, and the third one is for the isolation of one component using connecting procedure.
