X線CCD精密分光観測を用いた多重超新星爆発による宇宙線加速の解明

Research Abstract

次期X線天文衛星ASTRO-H搭載X線CCDカメラ(SXI)の信号処理用アナログASICを開発した。CCD素子行とASICとを接続して試験を行った結果、現在軌道上のX線天文衛星搭載のCCDカメラに匹敵する低雑音性能を実現した。軌道上での長期正常動作を保証するために放射線耐性試験を行った。ガンマ線・陽子ビーム・鉄イオンビームを用いた試験の結果、蓄積効果については軌道上で約200年分の放射線を浴びた後でも正常に動作することを実証した。一方確率的現象については、破壊的な損傷を受けることはなかったが、データの一部が異常値を示した。この結果を受け、確率的現象に対する耐性を向上させたASICを試作した。今後この新しいASICを用いて、さらに詳細な放射線耐性試験を行う予定である。
X線天文衛星すざくを用いて、天の川銀河内にある超新星残骸(SNR)「はくちょう座ループ」を観測した。SNR中心部に近い領域において、星間物質が掃き集められたと考えられる比較的低温なプラズマと、超新星爆発を起こした恒星の内部物質と考えられる比較的高温なプラズマの2つの成分でX線放射が説明できることを示した。特に後者のプラズマにおいて、はくちょう座ループの他の領域に比べてケイ素や硫黄といった重元素が多く分布していることを発見した。また視野内のX線放射強度が明らかに非一様を示しており、はくちょう座ループの超新星爆発における非対称性を示唆する結果を得た。
