Research Abstract |
The objective of this study is heavy rainfalls which brought flodd to the Huaihe River Basin, China in June and July, 1991. From view points of meteorology and hydrology, the mesoscale water cycle of the atomosphere-land system in the sub-tropical region was studied by data analyzes and numerical modelings. We had several study meetings in 1996 and 1997 to discuss results ans to exchange information about this study. the main items of this study are as follows : *influence of variations of the atomospherem and the land surface on the water cycle of the the Huaihe River Basin. *response characteristics of river flow to the rainfall in the basin, *coupling a land surface model into mesoscale atomospheric model, *simulation experiments of a heavy rainfall event, *and data analysis of convective clouds over the continent.
